If you might hurt yourself
Please reach a real person now. A breakup can hurt badly enough that ending the pain feels like the only way out. That feeling can pass, and people are ready to help you through tonight.
- Emergency: call your local emergency number (for example 911 in the US and Canada, 112 in the EU, 999 in the UK).
- United States: call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline).
- UK and Ireland: call Samaritans free on 116 123.
- Anywhere else: find a free, confidential helpline in your country at findahelpline.com.
If you can, tell someone you trust how you are feeling, and stay with them.
What Pratiora does in a crisis
When something you write suggests self-harm or crisis, Pratiora stops the analysis. It doesn't keep answering questions about your ex. Instead it shows real-world support and ways to reach people who can help.
Pratiora can't call emergency services, contact anyone for you, or check on you later. It is software, and it can miss things. That's why it is never a substitute for a person.
Pratiora is not therapy
Pratiora helps you make sense of what happened in a relationship. It doesn't diagnose or treat anything. If you've felt low for weeks, can't sleep or eat, or can't function day to day, please talk to a doctor or a licensed mental health professional.
Using Pratiora alongside therapy is fine. It can help you put into words what you want to bring to a session.
If the relationship was abusive
If you were hurt, threatened, or controlled, what happened is not your fault. Pratiora won't tell you to reach out to an abusive ex, and you should never feel you owe them contact.
If you're in danger, call your local emergency number. Local domestic abuse services can help you plan for safety; you can find them through your local authority or the helpline directory above.
Using Pratiora in a healthy way
- Pratiora is built to be left. The goal is to understand enough to stop searching, then close the tab.
- If you notice you're rereading answers the way you used to reread messages, take a break.
- Answers marked Unknown are not failures. Some questions only the other person can answer, and accepting that is part of closure.
